Location : Lake City, FL

Education : BS in Mathematics and MA in Teaching from LaGrange College (GA)

Mentor Since : 2012

Bill Griffin’s first interaction with Team 3556 was during a summer robotics camp held at the local community college for upcoming high school students.  Bill instructed the camp, and began to mentor GET SMART the following year when his eldest son joined the team.  He believes students that are heavily involved with STEM classes and programs will be prepared for the high tech employment opportunities of the future. Bill looks forward to build season every year, and by working with FIRST and GET SMART, his passion for teaching and mentoring students have enlivened the classroom.  His fondest moment with GET SMART is during competition at the 2013 Orlando Regional, when the team had to re-drill and re-tap the fasteners to the robot between the 6 minute switch of matches and managed to advance to the semi-finals.
